The people carrier is, for me, a hi-bred family saloon come
mini bus or van. Some can seat 10 plus people and the seats
are easily removed to store baggage or stock or equipment
for business purposes. I do wonder what the original market
target was and. perhaps, it is one of the reasons the people
carrier market has declined in recent years. It seems to
me the SUV's have taken the lions share of thne larger family
car market.
However, the family saloon hatchback market is very much
alive and growing stronger. I honestly don't think I would
buy the classic saloon car again i.e., a car with a boot,
ot trunk if you are American. I would certainly be looking
for a hatchback with room and space to carry as much as
possible. Why not? The price between a car with a boot or
trunk is much the same price as a hatchback and a hatchback
is going to be way more versatile.
